Pilipinas secures a win in the last game of the round against Singapore, 113-94

Sa huling competitive na laro natin this season ay nanalo naman tayo against Singapore. Unfortunately, di tayo aabot sa medal round na naman dahil 3rd lang tayo sa grupo. We will go through the World Championships Qualifier to see kung makakaabot tayo sa World Championships next season. Our opponent will be decided after ng game mamaya for Semis ng iba't-ibang Continental Championship.

Pilipinas misses out on a medal finish in the Asia Championship and the World Championship. Back to the Consolation Tournament.

Bago mag-umpisa ang Consolation Tournament, let us celebrate yung mga achievements natin last season. Wala pa tayong NT player na gagradweyt this season.

Jiffrey Sumalapao moved up to No.2 all time sa most NT points this season with 1,836, trailing NT Legend Leorio Lovino with 2,340. Sumalapao also recorded 270pts this season, good for No.8 sa all time total pts in a season. Sumalapao also moved up to No.3 all time sa most NT assists this season with 491, passing Ulan Cantara with 434.

Fortunato Arcega moved up to No.7 all time sa most NT rebounds this season with 751, passing Ramsey Paspe na may 745. Arcega also recorded 169rebs this season, good for No.3 sa all time total rebs in a season.

This season, may walong games sa qualification ng Consolation tournament para sa seeding sa knockout rounds ngunit bago yan, may scrimmage muna tayo with Thailand sa Hong Kong.

Pilipinas went alive in the 2nd half, beat World#2 Lithuania at home, 121-111

Team Pilipinas made a strong outing after the break with all the starters scoring in double digits. Jiffrey Sumalapao led the team with 38pts & 7asts. Melecio Sidad also contributed 23pts, 3rebs, 4asts & 2stls. Fortunato Arcega had himself a double-double with 16pts, 18rebs, 4asts, 2stls & 3blks. Ramsey Diva put up 13pts, 8rebs & 5asts while Alan Marquese had 12pts, 9rebs & 5asts.

On Monday, we will be traveling to Bahamas to face them at their gym.

Umuwi ang team na may 2-0 record sa Conso tournament. We kept extending our lead in the first 3 quarters and scored our lowest quarter during the 4th. The team was led by Melecio Sidad (26pts, 6asts, 2stls), Ericson Regidor (18pts, 2rebs, 2asts) and Jiffrey Sumalapao (16pts, 4asts). Off the bench, it was Ramsey Diva who led the charge with 12pts & 7rebs.

Sa lunes, we will be hosting the visiting Danes.

Both teams played with the same effort and we managed to keep them at bay, leading throughout the game. Seven players scored in double figures with Jiffrey Sumalapao leading the team with 25pts, 2rebs, 4asts, 2stls. Harvey Casinillo led the bench with 19pts, 6rebs, 5asts.

Sa susunod lunes, travel naman tayo sa ating kapitbahay na Malaysia. They are currently 2-1 after losing away to Portugal noong lunes.

Pilipinas takes home the win against Malaysia, 100-83

Both teams played with the same effort with Malaysia taking an early lead in Q1. We managed to edge them by 1pt at the break and went all the way in the 2nd half to beat them in front of their fans.

Next week, we will be hosting Ghana.

Pilipinas exits the Consolation Tournament Round of 16, to host the Asia Championship anew

The team exited the tournament after a dominant performance by The Netherlands. As the only Asian team to reach the round of 16 and without a trophy in the last three Asia Championships, we have once again been given the opportunity to host next season's tournament.

Let us all congratulate Alan Adrian Marquese for a wonderful stint in our Senior National Team. He's played a total of 111 games so far and the scrimmage against England on Monday being his 112th, possibly his last. Pasasalamat na rin sa lahat ng nag-handle sa kanya throughout the years. Babantayan pa rin naman natin siya kahit gurang na siya, kung kakayanin pang maglaro sa National Team natin.

In other news, Jiffrey Sumalapao moved up to the 5th most performances for NT with 131. Naungusan niya si Raymund Duraliza na may 119 games played. He is also inching closer sa all-time points leader natin na si Leorio Lovino (2,340), sa kasalukuyan ay may 2,052 points na siya. Hinahabol niya rin sa ngayon sa 2nd all-time assists si Lovino (624), 82 na lang ang kailangan niya to surpass him. Currently at 34 years of age, may chance pa siyang habulin si Lovino in the next two seasons.

Another news worthy update, Fortunato Arcega moved up the 3rd all-time rebounds leaders na may 886. Nalampasan niya si Ace Julio Madrigal with 857. Pumasok na rin siya sa Top 10 all-time assist leaders with 293. At only 30 years of age, may pagkakataon pa siyang umakyat pa sa parehong leaderboard.
