But this wouldn't be a debate thread without some debate. Guys what are you going to do to try and ensure that there is a future pipeline of NT standard players besides just wish and hope?
Well so far from last 2 seasons, I've made a thread in the BB forum
(217586.1), updated both the offsite forum topic
http://forum.buzzerbeaterstats.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&... and the Australian NT advertisement which details the generic requirements for each position. Of course they are not perfect but they are good guidelines for managers.
Other than that, the most important thing for the national coach to do is to follow up with managers in regards to their trainee via BB mail, BB chat, BB forum or offsite forum. There are some managers that you can trust to do their thing given their level of experience but there are others that you need to keep tabs on. However it is always good to follow up by letting them know what training they should focus on and how far they are off from future national selection. Of course not everybody are willing to respond to your messages. Some are willing to compromise, some prefer to train their own way while others prefer to not be bothered and you got to let them do their own thing. So at the end of the day you can only provide advice for these managers and hope they listen and follow your advice to ensure that the national level of standard doesn't fall. ;)
Although there are other ways as well. Sometimes the best way to contribute to the talent pool is for the national manager to take some responsibility by buying national players or future national players themselves and train them up themselves. Also if potential or current national players are on sale, it's always good to give heads up to fellow managers otherwise talent could be lost.
