I guess I should clarify that I do not necessarily want a scorer from the bench nor a 10 minute starter and 38 minute bench player$ I just used those as examples of possibilities.

What I really want is for my well rounded bench player to rotate better with my starters so he gets 20+ minutes as opposed to the 8-12 he is getting now. This is happening to my front court and back court, mind you.

Playing players at multiple back up positions does not increase his minutes. It only serves to increases starters minutes.

I could buy players with low stamina, but because I train all 9 of my rotation players I would have to purposefully buy trainees with low stamina and then consciously not train stamina. I just think stamina is a poor way to regulate lineup minutes. Kind of silly, actually.

Keep the conversation going!

thats interesting that ur guy isnt getting more minutes when set at two positions. earlier this season i was setting the same player as the backup Pg and Sg and he was getting 15-20 mins a game. 9 at one position, 7 at the other, usually an uneven distribution, but it definately did happen multiple times. so i wonder why this doesnt happen with ur guy.

the stamina thing is an interesting one. Why doesnt San antonio start manu? Or why does Jason Terry come off the bench. this allows them to come into the game fresh against tired opponent, and also be more effective down the stretch. but poor old whoever st starting SG, maybe its because he has crap stamina? i dunno. probably not. its not sometihng to do deliberately, but certainly something to take into consideration over time if u ever do purcahse a lower stamina player.

why oh why are u training all 9 of ur rotation players?its very inefficient form of training? thats a topic for another conversation

When I say I train all 9 rotation players, I don't mean all at once. I stagger their training over 9 seasons. 1 new player in and 1 old player out each season. This allows me to train 3 players at 1 position training each year. 19-20 and keep them until 26-27 or so. I am only in year 5 of the plan, but have 5 players with my own signicant training on my team.

If you put a better player than the starter to the sub spot and choose let coach decide, the sub will get 24 minutes easily.

And screw your training, so this is not a solution for everyone.

Who said there is no downside. So do you want to train or pursue the "sixth man" phenomenon?

I like both, but if one excludes the other, I prefer training.

What you choose to do is irrelevant. The question was, is it possible. The answer is yes.

I would love to get 3 players 48 minutes each, every week, for the whole season, while winning the title easily and not lose any games. This game is about choises.

but to this downside, comes that it didn't work at least for me. Cause then the starting backup play often more minutes then when i choose strictly follow, at least for my team.

Teams and players are different. You just have to find suitable players for it to work. Like with everything;)

but then the option isn't already there as claimed.
