no i would not.

id suggest one on one training to build elastics get both hnd drv up to 12+ , then pump od to 13+ , followed by some jr 10+.
pump passing 12+ next followed by some js 12+, then decide if you want them to be pg's or sgs

pg = more od passing and js

sg - more od jr an js

id also make sure your 1 position training them.

It isn't relevant for you in div 5 to train IS for guards. You should train their passing though to atleast respectable. Then maybe some Js or so.

But he won't stay forever in div5, right? Not only because probably he wants to promote, but also because in two seasons' time, salaries of these two players will become unbearable for a div5 team. When you are making a "training plan" for a player, you also have to picture where will his owner be at the end of this plan. So if he trains that HoF until he is 25, I guess he will find himself at least in div3 at that time, look at his player with awful IS and think "why on earth didn't I train that".

So my answer is, I'd train IS at least to inept/mediocre, but mainly with 1 on 1 for Forwards and less with IS for C.

if yyou train a hof till 25, you will have trouble to afford it even at div 3. But most likely the player will move up, and the next buyers a intrested in secondary skills.

Training IS for a guard is quite comfortabel when you could afford, to train one on one for forwards. In my eyes you don't neeed huge improvement there, but like that you nearly get it free with a decent speed.

Since we are talking about the IS effect on PG and SG, what do you think both of them should have (minimum) in terms of IS when playing in your team's division?

For current division I don't think they need more IS than they already have. If I were in Div.5, I'd much rather train DR for purpose of going to the rim instead of IS since in Div.5 managers probably don't care a lot about secondaries on their guards like ID and SB.

I have a PG that constantly improved in DR and JS as I moved up to higher leagues and he always maintained %FG above 0.400. I always played PtB or LI to maximise his potential though. Now he looks like this:

JS 13, JR 6
OD15, HA 13
DR 14, PA 12
IS 2

When I play outside tactics, I always play him at SF.

So unless you are facing really tough opponents that you will start seeing in D.III and D.II, Inside shot is really not a priority, but more a luxury; high DR will do.

For D.V, I think DR 11 on your guards will be more than enough to beat the hell out of every team you face.

Thank you for your opinion.

Edit: My players who often play as PG have 7 and 3 (very close to 4).

In my opinion, it is useful for a SG player to have a higher IS.If he have a high level of Dr and HD,he can make more shots(outside and inside) in the match.
