They will only drop at the end of each season, so I think it would be far cheaper to buy 3 1k players with 2k or 1k salary, or even buy another trainee to replace the older players and train the trainee in scrimmages.

Is the potential really linked with salary? I know that these salary from the top aren't correct right now, but I think that potential can be linked with a summary of skills because Centers and Power Forwards have larger salaries from rest of positions which is caused with less skilles for training...

No one really knows exactly how potential is worked out. However, it is a combination of skill total and salary. And since salary and skill totals are linked, you can see how potential and salary are linked.

The estimates provided are based on peoples experiences and when they notice that training has slowed significantly then they realise they have hit the cap, and they take note of the level of salary at that time.

Inside skills do add more to the salary for big men than guard skills do for guards.
