I knew someone back in Texas whose mom was killed by a serial killer. For real. Once somebody made a joke about his mom, except that the guy who made the joke didn't know about the guy's mom. It was a somber moment. We all learned a valuable lesson then. (Well, that particular jokester learned his lesson a little later on when somebody told him about the other guy's mom. I doubt he's ever make a joke about anyone else's mom again, at least not without first checking to make sure their mom was still alive first.)
