Where's the National Team Thread?

Anyways, I'm going to run for the National Team since BBallin has yet to enter and I think it's best for myself to manage National team rather than have an arbitrary American or have Kumiko manage both U21 and National Team.

I've been here for many seasons, can devote adequate time to the game, and feel like I can step up to the plate and make a contribution to the Canadian community.

C'mon guys/girls if you gonna run for U21 manager - at least be serious about it. Don't waste your time going against the likes of Kumiko - who has put in time and effort that most of us would not even dream of. If your are going to have a debate - then debate with at least half your neurons connecting.

The elections are two-season terms, and we alternate between electing the NT manager and the U21 manager. So, this season is the U21 elections, and Bballin won't have to worry about running until next season.

That's what I originally thought. However, if you go to the national team page under elections, it shows national team election registration is open...

its always been like that. The election button takes You to the sane page on both the U21 and NT pages. There isn't an NT elections page and a U21 elections page. So if you registered under the NT election tab, you've actually just registered for the U21 post. Im still manager for one more season, You cant get rid of me that quickly!

In the pull-down menu in the top right it clearly states "Canada U21 Season 26 Elections"

That's a generous estimate of mof's brain activity. This is a question to all of the candidate: How much brain power is needed to run Canada's U21 team?

You realize You are still registered for the election and currently running against Kumiko right? Im not sure if You actually want to be is why I ask.

Its obvious that You understand the game, getting to Naismith twice is impressive, but its also obvious You know nothing about the U21/NT side of things. Kumiko had a bad team last season. That's not her fault, she cannot train all the players, she just has to choose from the crop. In fact last years bad team has more to do with me, not doing enough contact work with the owners of the trainees when those players were drafted. The crop of players we have coming in are some of the best players we have had at the u21 level, because Kumiko has been working her tail off to deal with the contact work and scouting. You have never once contributed to the Canadas U21 or NT programs and that's not supposed to be rude, heck most Canadian managers haven't, but You should try being active on the offsite forum. Helping with gameplanning, scouting, roster decisions, before You throw Your name in the hat.

I really have nothing to say, You should be elected and continue doing a fine job.

Seriously if people are even considering another manager besides Kumiko You are insane. Canada got their second ever direct bid to the worlds with her at the helm and the first time we got a direct bid, The Mogul was the manager, probably the best U21 manager Canada ever had and he had HCA that season. This is a no brainer. Kumiko needs to be Canadas U21 manager for another term.

I admit that Kumiko has done an awesome job with what she has.
And I have railed against real pro coaches that have been fired for bad records after their GM's have given them little to work with but you know what, that's the nature of the beast.
You don't win you get fired, or, you get the bosses temporary approval and than you get fired.

I have never really been a contributer to the off site and I think I could run the program as well as anyone.

Fact be known, as a member I went to check the depth charts today as directed by you in another thread.

tried many times and gave up.

all the game planning, scouting and roster decisions while contributing to the off site didn't make Kumiko a winner, so don't assume that's the only approach.

I think it's too big a job for him right now but if you saw the sheets of stats he works with as a 10 year old, it would blow your mind
perhaps that's why he's been to Naismith twice and you haven't

I think Kumiko will make a better coach this season
but in the long run I bet he will beat the pants off of her
because he will get this job sooner or later if he really wants it
