Can a player retire when he is in his mid 30s or 40s, or does he only lose his skills to the point when you don't need him on your roster anymore and you fire him?

I have a nice player, was MVP in a Div IV league at age 30. His skills had never gone down until this season (7), when he lost a little passing and shot blocking. I use him a lot in scrimmages—he can still score fairly well and at 6-11 is a decent rebounder.

A player stays with your team until you fire him. When you do so, he goes straight to the transfer list and if not acquired he goes for his retirement. If he is on a roster he will only lose skills. So if you stay with BB for a while you might have the first 60 year old player:)
PS: He might be cheap at that time too;)

Fired players do not get transfer-listed.
NO ONE at this table ordered a rum & Coke
Charles: Penn has some good people
A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score
Any five are live

(This is going to look like a very poor excuse:)
I don't have the link, and the players age has been altered (I believe last season) to a somewhat more normal age. But I bet JuicePets can remember this guy I am talking about...
