Thank you for those who voted for me. I am grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to get stuck into this.

Firstly i would like to thank Fontakas 7 for his service. The highlight will be a famous victory over the 'Auld Enemy' England in season 69

Scouting will be commencing shortly. We will be aiming to build a strong community of local managers/trainers and well as follow the progress closely of some of our trainees who are being trained abroad and in Utopia.

If anyone wants to be involved in the u21 setup please message me. I may even message a few managers directly that i would be honoured to have on the team. Fontakas 7, if you want to stick around in the u21 setup i would be fine with that. Feel free to message me.

Thoughts on the coming season - Straight in at the deep end with a match against the number 1 rated team Italy. It gets a little easier with matches against Finland, The Netherlands and Russia. Just a little though. The schedule becomes bearable at the end with Azerbaijan and Andorra both being winnable games against comparable opponents. We also have a game against Latvia which will be a very difficult match.

Game 1 - Scotland vs. Italia 69 - 117 (81687)

A heavy defeat as expected. We can be proud of the 1st and 4th quarter defensive performance holding them to only 19 points in each. Italy were too much for us in the 2nd and 3rd quarters as they scored 39 and 40 points respectively to our 17 and 18.

We correctly predict that Italy will try and run up the score with a fast pace. We manage to win a quarter against Italy in garbage time which is a respectable effort.

Our best performer of the night was SG G. MacIlduy with 23 points, 7 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 2 Steals and 1 Block over 34 minutes.

Given our lack of game shape and being outmatched against the number 1 rated team, we are not disgraced and are happy to keep the score differential less than 50.

Our next game is against Suomi (Finland) which will be another difficult contest.

Game 2 - Suomi vs. Scotland 118 - 78 (81690)

A defeat by a 40 point margin. This one a tough match from the get-go. Finland shot the ball extremely well against our 3-2 zone. We lost the first 3 quarters comfortably and narrowly won the 4th quarter in garbage time.

We took a chance on predicting Finland playing an isolation offence and were incorrect with Finland opting for the the Run and Gun. In hindsight, a bad prediction as Finland being much stronger than us were always likely to go with such a fast tactic. My thinking at the time was that Finland have been known to mix up their tactics and use different styles in the past. The game was never close so fortunately this had no significant bearing on the outcome.

Our best performer of the night was SF M. MacAdie (54853727) with 18 points, 8 Rebounds, 1 Assist, and 3 Steals over 36 minutes.

One for the future - 19 year old rookie Blane Wadsworther (55157473) got his first minutes for the National Team with an impressive 10 points of the bench. We look forward to his contributions as he improves through training.

Our next game is against The Nederlands. They do not look as strong on paper as Finland or Italy but this will still be a tough match.

Game 3 - Scotland 89 - 90 Nederland (81693)

A brave defeat by the narrowest of margins. Our defence kept pace with the Dutch Look Inside focused method of attack. We had a chance to win in the closing moments but ultimately came up just short.

Unfortunately it looks like a double incorrect GDP might have cost us the chance of an upset, this is a sore one for sure. We had a bit of good fortune during the game in that the Dutch sides best player got injured early in the 3rd quarter.

This is a very promising performance and i take great confidence that this team can start winning some of the more equal contests

Our best performer of the night was C Anderson Lyall ((54236814)) with 20 points, 13 Rebounds, 1 Assist, and 1 Block over 34 minutes.

Jeffrey McCoist (54853389) For our football fans, Ally McCoist was a name synonymous with scoring, but Jeffrey McCoist took was more of a provider tonight with 7 assists off the bench.

Our next game is against Russia. We do not have any realistic chances in that match and it will be damage limitation.

Game 4 - Russia 103 - 63 Scotland (81699)

Another difficult match ending in a decisive defeat. a 40 point defeat again. There is no shame in this as Russia look like a top tier side at u21 level this season.

Russia threw in a curveball by electing not to play a fast pace offence, and we missed our GDP prediction.

Our best performer of the night was SG Gary MacIlduy (54541798) with 34 points, 3 Rebounds, 3 Assists and 1 Block over 31 minutes. A shining light in a difficult campaign so far and he did not deserve to be on the losing team with such a performance against a powerful opponent.

Our next game is against Azerbaijan. A game that we really need to win and are expected to do so. We pray our players stay fit and in good shape.

Game 5 - Scotland 100 - 105 Azerbaijan (81704)

I have to apologize for this one. The loss is on me. Firstly the failure to play 3-2 zone and also playing a bad offence against a probable 3-2 zone.

We got absolutely torched from 3 point land and missed Free Throws and dreadful 3 point shooting of our own was a combination that we could not overcome. If anything it was incredible that we even got the match to overtime.

Now we get to the match ratings. i have never in all my time seen a game in buzzerbeater where the match ratings and PP100 are so detached from what is happening on the court. It never really felt like we were ever in control of this match. Even when we built a brief 8 point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. It was erased within 53 seconds. When we look at the match ratings it is very difficult to comprehend how we have lost this match but we congratulate the opponent on their victory.

Up next is Latvia. We will try our best and take heart from the fact Andorra managed to score an upset win vs them so you would think there is a chance we could get an upset victory there.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who is training players for our national teams. I have seen a lot of progress made and we have a good crop of players being trained at 19 year old and 20 year old ready to step up next season.

We have lacked big men for quite some time and it is an area that the draft has not been too kind to us in recent years. Never the less i can see quite a few managers have been training some well rounded big men regardless!

We go into the final game vs Andorra full of confidence. On paper we should be looking to win this game however Andorra have some impressive victories this season. Our key players are in good game shape and injury free, this is all we can ask for in preparation!

I will update Monday night/Tuesday with hopefully a win to break the duck this year!

Game 6 - Latvia 89 vs 75 Scotland (81707)

A game in which we kept it close despite putting in less effort than the opponent. This needs to be taken in context as the opponent seemed to rest some of their higher salary players however we can only play against what is put in front of us.

We were in control for most of the first 3 quarters, leading for large parts of the match before eventually running out of steam in the 4th quarter as is to be expected against a stronger opponent. Ultimately 1-23 from beyond the arc is going to make it difficult to win any match, let alone one where we are clear underdogs.

Our best performer of the night was PF David Dawson (54539704) with 20 points, 16 Rebounds, 4 Assists and 1 Block over 38 minutes.

Up next is Andorra. We must target a win here to avoid the wooden spoon of 0-7 record.

Game 7 - Andorra 75 - 80 Scotland (81712)

A great win to end the season against Andorra. Both teams put in maximum effort of crunch time. It was a tense and tight affair through the first half with both sides trading small leads in a low scoring contest. We held a 2 point lead at the half.

The game exploded into life in the second half. We were magnificent in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Andorrans 22-6 in a suffocating defensive effort. We held a 20 point lead early in the 4th. Things started to go downhill in the 4th quarter as Andorra fought back in a spirited comeback. We managed to hold on just about but all credit to Andorra for making a match of it. It is understandable how they have managed a good campaign with some marquee wins, we are delighted to beat them tonight and avoid a winless campaign.

Our best performer of the night was once again PF David Dawson (54539704) with 11 points, 11 Rebounds, 6 Assists and 5 Blocks over 30 minutes. This has to be the single most complete performance by a player in the whole campaign so far.

It was great to see some contributions off the bench in some of our younger core of players. These guys can keep improving and hopefully propel us for forward into a respectable performance in the consolation tournament next season!

Managers I ask you to keep up the good work training your young Scottish players!

Scrimmage - Scotland 108 - 94 Luxembourg (82551)

A convincing win in the end against a similar level opponent. We got off to a slow start trailing after a quarter but very quickly stormed into a lead in the third quarter and held onto to it without any concerns.

Our best performer of the night was SF Somerled Duilach (54539406) with 38 points and 8 rebounds over 34 minutes.

Up next is a scrimmage against Azerbaijan. We will look to make amends for the Overtime defeat that they inflicted on us in the competitive qualifying campaign.
