Hey guys,

Quick question: Can anyone with enough experience give me a rough estimation of the minimum requirement of skills needed for Guards, Forward, and Centers respectively, for each division level within the USA?

Example format (So novice players can also understand):

Guards

D3

JS: 8
JR: 8
OD: 8
HAN: 8
DRV: 8
PAS: 8
IS: 8
ID: 8
REB: 8
SB: 8

D2

....[same format above]

And you'd follow the same format for bigs and forward (or use your own format idc ^_^)

I think this information will help not only me, but plenty of other BB managers who like to plan for the future.

P.S. These parameters are met to give the reader a fairly accurate approximation of the skill level needed to at least be semi-competitive and stay in each division.

P.S.S. I believe the NBBA can be viewed as an outlier when coming up with these estimations, since I assume all the managers compete to win or at least stay in the league, so even if you meet the minimum requirement for the NBBA, you'd still have a pretty good chance of being regulated.

Hopefully we get some insightful answers that can serve not just me, but all the other managers.

Thanks in advance guys !

I think you are approaching this question the wrong way. There are required skills, nice to have skills and almost irrelevant skills and the balance also depends on how your team is built, so the answers are not set in stone.

If I look for a guard in D1, the bare minimum would be 16OD 10JR 10PA 4IS (I would never take a guard with skills like that though). But would I consider adequate a guard with 17OD 20PA 8JR and 8JS? Sure I would.

Also salary considerations are often as important as the skillset. So to me a guy with elite IS/ID/RB and 4 SB is worth more than the same guy with 10 SB because he will cost a lot less.

I understand where you are coming from Lemon.

Now that I have thought about it a bit more after reading your reply, only determinng division requirements to stay competitive by assessing skills alone is shortsided of me, since there are many other factors that play a role in determininig if a player is good enough to compete in a certain division.

Thanks for the reply buddy !
