The calculation for DMI includes your players' game shapes. This has dropped from last week. Presumably they played too much or too little, I haven't checked. The best minute range to maintain game shape is generally 55-70 minutes per week. That's a little wider than I'd say to a veteran manager but for new players, its probably easier to aim at a wider range.

DMI = Skills x Gameshape

Your players did not get the proper minute ranges last week (generally belief is 48-70 minutes is good for a week). 60 is the minute ideal. As your players GS rises, so will their DMI (effectiveness on the court). If you are training players and getting them pops in skills, their DMI will also rise.

DMI doesn't directly affect anything in the game anyways, it is more a reflection of other things which will affect their performance in the game.

ie: gameshape and skills.

as skills increase, so does DMI. Better gameshape will also result in higher DMI.

I generally use DMI to compare my players to opposition players. However some people believe that DMI stands for Deliberately Meaningless Index.

so there you go.

... or Deliberately Misleading Index.

IMO DMI is very important. I compare my matchups using it.
What does it actually stand for?

As has already been said, deliberately meaningless index.

I also use it to compare matchups. Its not perfect for that use but its a useful tool.
