I'll use BBallin's template from a past season and outline the participants and their rosters, schedules, and general outlook.

Participants:

the ragin stajans (33578) (2nd appearance)
Superfreakys (25120) (1st appearance)

First, the ragin stajans...

Guards:

Ivan Damjanac (18190370) AKA "Ivan the Terribly High Salary"
A probable role-player on the 3rd ranked Serbia NT and an important player for my club team. Has quality passing and inside skills. Merely an okay scorer, but will be relied on to score a lot.

Teddy Hills (24738358) AKA "Dollar Bills", AKA "Cub Skills", AKA "Purple Pills", AKA "Teddy 1"
A placeholder, purchased at good value because there wasn't much on the transfer wire. Solid passing and okay elsewhere. Will be ineffective. Will upgrade if I manage a 2-1 B3 start.

Swingmen:

Emori Faletoese (19608970) AKA "Emery Board", "AKA Fail-a-too-easy"
Should presumably make Australia NT on the merit of overall skill. A much maligned player who is probably slightly above-average in most skills, but underwhelming in game action. Solid reboundier and defender who should be serviceable offensively in a few tactics at G/SF.

Niels Rüxleben (25344391) AKA "'Niels Boar"
Something or nothing. Can be used at any position and wouldn't be awful due to some skill variance. Well suited as a back-up PF/SF.

Teodor Pilarski (24304747) AKA "Pillar of Sadness", AKA "Teddy 2"
Similar to Ruxleben, but will have to play guard unless I make upgrades.. I stopped training him for unknown reasons. Why I did that is a question I'm asking myself.

Big Men:

Duncan Arsenault: (17732228) AKA "Dunking Arsenal"', AKA "Just", AKA "Just Dunking... Arsehole"
Possible 12th man for Canada NT. Balanced inside skills and serviceable outside skills. Solid player, but definitely not a B3 winning calibre starter.

Michael Hackett (21465411) AKA "Denim Jacket", AKA "Denim Vest"
Similar skills compared to Arsenault but maybe less versatile defensively.

Fabrizio Fabbricatore (17951964) AKA "Italian Scallion", AKA "Definitely Has Body Hair Everywhere", AKA "Knockoff Italian Air Freshener and Fabric Softener Salesman"
Suited as a back-up PF but will need to play back-up C. Will upgrade if I manage a 2-1 B3 start. Huge WTF: averaged 24.5 PTS on 63 FG% in the playoffs against Sammons (or Di Silvestro, not sure), Laurent, and GM's duo.

Schedule:

vs Spartak Hirova (185880) (heavy favourite)
@ Tatatallfella (37797) (heavy underdog)
@ Ares United (59926) (unknown)
vs B.C. Globetrotters (50062) (favourite)
@ Gomilandor Bastards (118391) (favourite?)
vs Sporting Olimpia (53765) (favourite)
vs Redimentes (208450) (heavy favourite)
@ IMERETI (175920) (unknown)

Outlook:

I think my 4 most difficult games are on the road. My 2nd opponent doesn't look spectacular on paper but appears unbeatable on the road. My 3rd opponent is also pretty good. A good thing about this is that I should know after game 3 whether to make upgrades or downgrades. If I can manage a 2-1 start with my current squad, I'll strongly consider buying an elite SG and PF and trying to make a real title run. If not, meh.

Now, Superfreakys...

Guards:

Béla Bánka (25296740) AKA "the Budapest pest"

Darko Gagula (20278822) AKA "Croatian Donation", AKA "not-that-Darko"

Piero Santinello (27476279) AKA "Little Italy", AKA "Rome Gnome"

Alfred Płotkowski (21330723) AKA "Plot-cow-ski", AKA "Reality TV"

Small Forwards:

Steven Gerard Tigas (16983088) AKA "Tiger", AKA Trigger, AKA "Soccer"

Big men:

Darren Lonergan (21092523) AKA "Ace", AKA "Home Alone 6: Alone Again"

Ants Kallakas (25255180) AKA "Aunt Jemima", AKA "Ant Man"

Phil Fitchen (31466007) AKA "The Phil", AKA "Moose", AKA "Meese"

Schedule:

vs Atsalakotoi B.C. (27693) (78440474)
@ Northern Kyushu Ramen Kings (53423) (unknown)
vs I Love Tehran (146725) (unknown)
@ ballers on elm street (214639) (heavy favourite)
@ kitties (49652) (heavy favourite)
vs SUPERLIGOTA (55675) (unknown)
vs LO Clippers (26458) (favourite)
@ Semilasteros (444689) (heavy favourite)

Outlook:

3 most difficult games are at home. I'd expect the Polish team to be extremely tough and a possible loss. Tehran (perennial contender) doesn't seem as good as usual and Clippers aren't too spectacular. 4 games against teams from puny countries and then the one game that's already been played and won. Not sure if this is pure jealousy or not, but I could see 7-1 here as teams are currently constructed.

Bleh, 890k+ salary opponent who has HCA and better GS.

Should I play inside iso, inverted patient (my top shooter isolating against either his SF or C who may be low-ish OD), look inside, low post, or motion? Anyone can feel free to choose and say any of those options at random.

Defensively, well, I'm going to need my GDP luck to continue. Won't be easy since my opponent can manage tremendous outside scoring and is obviously good inside too. I'll probably guess 'inside' as always.

No inverted patient. You have to remember that PD also counts. I would just go with your strongest offensive tactic. Does he use a lot of GDP? I dont think he should take a guess if he is stronger and has HCA, so with a right guess you might just make it (without much scouting, just based on your info. midterms, assignments, labs, quizess, all at once, october sucks)

Interesting. Yeah, I didn't want anyone to waste any time scouting for sure. I control whether I get smoked or am likely competitive through my GDP decision, so my offence matters much less in a way. I don't think he uses GDP much, but I'm limited offensively this week. I might just use inside ISO because I hate it so much and can use it as a scapegoat.

Sorry about all the posts. Just wasn't easy to come up with tactics.

Kept it simple and won. Somehow, I was up 28 at the half and won by the same margin. This against a team that put up slightly higher ratings than me in this very match. I'd say it's reasonable I won due to using a better offence, but a lopsided result like that is absurd. I'll take it. (78440531)

Superfreakys with a tough loss that could've gone either way. His SF spot got pretty unlucky (10 points on 21 shots with 117.5 pp/100) and his 13 AST and 13 TO despite good flow and a motion offence is sort of frustrating. I think he did everything he could and his tactics looked good for the game, just couldn't get the result. (78440548)

Forgot about last week. That was another lopsided win, but another game I could've lost. Close game with neutral context. If I missed my GDP and he used a GDP and hit (which wouldn't have been unlikely events), I wouldn't have won. Not as crazy a win as my second game, or maybe not that crazy at all (probably a 50/50 game), but feels good to be 3-0 when I should be 2-1 at best.

edit: oh, should be an easy win tonight too so 4-0.

Still have 2 more tough games left. Should be heavily favourited in all games until my final group game.

-----

Superfreakys have essentially dropped out. Probably the right move at that time with 2 losses and a later game against a probable top 3 team.

Does anyone know when the B3 transfer deadline is? I'm not sure where to look for that info.

Would someone mind skipping ahead to the 48-minute mark http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/78441060/reportmatch.as... and telling me if my player Fabbricatore got injured and was highlighted red in my match? I'm curious as to why his minutes and stats were all goose eggs.

Thanks.
