How come an atrocious free throw shooter can't make a single one
even if he has legendary jump shot.
Today my atrocious rebounder grabbed 12 boards in his triple double.
Just a scrimmage but still, very interesting

Well to explain the free throws, jump shot has no effect on free throws. You are not allowed to jump when you shoot a free throw.

Probably the same reason that a player can somehow make it to one of the top teams in the world without ever having trained free throws. (Though, at least, this should become less common in the future with cross-training, so guys who are being trained who may have otherwise been 0.000% guys may get just enough FT in cross-training to become five percent free throw shooters).

Of course, after seeing my team shoot under five percent from the field in the first quarter of my last playoff game despite having much higher skill levels than absolute zero, maybe that's too high a percentage for FT. ;)

Because BB is a simulation that doesn't try to be as close to realistic as possible, so FT's get calculated on their own, meaning 0.000000 skill equals 0.000000 FT%. Rebounds have to go to someone, so they're probably calculated as a probability among possible targets adjusted by their skills, so if both players have atrocious RB they have equal chance to grab the rebound.

yer this is a good point. Rebounds have to go to someone, even if everyone is a bunch of hopeless rebounders.

Or there would just be 200 "X tries to grab the ball, but it goes out of bounds" messages per game instead of the 20 now.

well this obviously proves that the 'Ball goes out of bounds' message has nothing to do with Rebounding skill.
