Throughout the past few seasons, I have been reluctant to draft and scout because I do not know how. I also feel that if i spend 13 weeks per 5K for scouting, thats 70K and that will usually get me a good foreign draftee. That 70K could go in draft and scouting or in my wallet, and in the past few seasons its been going in my wallet. I would like to know how to draft and scout so that I can make use of this 70K.

Thanks

Anyone that posts something useful will get a +1

for 70 k, you can only get 14 scouting points which is not nearly enough to find a good trainee. you should either not pay money for scouting, or pay 10k each week which will get you 28 scouting points in the draft and then you may find someone useful.

with 28 points, you can use 10 of them for the scouting combine, which will give you the age and height of all the draftees. then if you wanna train guards, use the remaining 18 points to scout players who are 18yo and shorter than 6'3''. if you wanna train big man, scout players who are 18yo and longer than 6'9''.

i myself look for players who have 3 or more balls in star rating and 4 or mare balls in potential.

Word of Advice: You may spend money to get how ever many scouting points you want, but i would not use your scouting points on looking at players this season. Keep your points so when you have a 4th 3rd 2nd or 1st pick in the draft you can use all your points and actually get the player you want rather than this season, where you will have a middle pack draft pick meaning your probably wont get any of the players you want. The drafts suck unless you are a 7th or 8th seed normally.

As they have said, it is only worth drafting if you already know that you will have a bad season in front of you, tho you have to keep in mind that scouting points can be saved for the next season as well, so you do not have to use them this season, you have to predict what kind of seasons you will have to be able to manage your scouting points and standing successfully,

If you think you have a good chance at winning the division this year just put 5k on scouting and save the points for next season, once you get promoted the competition will be tougher and you have a high chance at being in the bottom of the standings then you can put 40k on scouting for that season + you will have the once you have saved up from the last season, giving you a better chance of finding quality players. this is just an example to give you some ideas.

long term scouting gives you the highest chance of getting quality players, if you can predict that you will have a bad season lets say 3 seasons from now then you can start saving up draft points for that season and so on.

Basically draft sucks! So you need to invest only if you will have the 1 or second chance to pick up a draftee;)

In any other cases, my advise is to not invest in draft.

i spend 10k each week since serveral seasons.
my IV league was never really active, so i spend the points independent from my draft position.

i always did the Group Demonstration for 10 points first.
then i interviewed all 5* and 4* players, at least if i have enough points to interview them all.
for sure some of the found players where 19y, but these are ok as 2nd round or maybe even 3rd round pick.
also many guys don't pick 19y players with high potential, so a fair chance to get them in 2nd round.

only in my first season i invested more money then i got back with the sold players.
in one season i kept the best draft, but don't count this season as negative income as i got a trainee who will be one of my future starters.

i'm very happy and was for sure lucky with this system.
but some of my friends did the same scouting in their leagues and ended up with bad scouting results and no useful players at all.

Group demostration only cover 18 players only. Why don't you use "scouting combine"?

Both would cost you 20 points. Then spend the remaining 8 points for interviewing 3 or 4 players.
