This thread is for analysing our previous games of the season.

ROUND 1

Saudi Arabia U21
(http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/19868/boxscore.aspx)

Well this game was an interesting one with the Saudi Arabian manager CTing off the bat. It was a bit of a stupid move considering they have pretty much forfeited their next 3 games as a result of this. But nonetheless we got the Win and now it's time to evaluate our performance.

I was a bit disappointed in our Turnovers in the first half of the game with Dogan and V.V amounting to 10 of our 15 total. Matty has said he'll be working on some passing from this week onwards which will give us some much needed stability especially if Dogan's going to spend 40+ minutes on the court like this game. V.V's turnovers can be put down to poor handling most likely governed by the fact he was receiving the ball the most out of all our bigs in our Look Inside offense. I'll be giving out the Game Ball at the end of every round rather than MVP honours so we can still announce one in the games we lose.

Game Ball
This weeks Game Ball goes out to our feind in the post "Vennmani Vaidyanathan" with 24 points on 8-14 shooting and 11 rebounds. Obviously the 5 Turnovers were a bit of a downfall but him getting to the line for 12 free throws is a good sign.

Congratulations to "Ljuboo" the manager of "Red Star Baywater" and V.V for taking home the first rounds' Game ball.

It was a great win for us and a very silly move by the Saudis who have now knocked themselves out of the tournament.

To survive a CT vs TIE at this stage when everyone has the same enthusiasm and game shape is impressive. The Saudis clearly didn't have the level of talent that we have.

Saudi Arabia U21 looked like the only team trying out there.

When contacted about being awarded the game ball VV was stuck in traffic driving his taxi in Bayswater but still tried to offer us a special deal on Foxtel.

Other great contributors were mighty $88,000 man Dylan Scoggins (have we ever had an U21 player with such a salary before?) who led the rebounding with 12 big boards.

Yu Fuhao was efficient at the point hitting 6/10 FGs although everyone needed more passing and less turnovers.

Finally Mr Efficient was communist defector Darren Lonergan who hit with a Soviet inspired efficiency 5/5 FGS as well as 3 REb and 2 AST in limited minutes off the bench.

We had a few 80Kers in my era (though I think wages were higher back then, so their skill set wouldn't have been as good). Brian Nunes-Roberts, Harepeka Riddington were up there as bigs. Oh, and Jone Bogan was over 80K wage, which was just crazy as a guard

Anyway, nice writeup Leeroy

Will be training Passing for the next few weeks to lift Dogan's ability to keep and pass. Also annoyed that Dogan's GS went from Strong to Respectable despite getting 66 minutes. I'm very focused about minutes so disappointed. However, my other trainee (Marcelo 'Hot Rod' Rodriguez, former Argentinian U21 player) went from Avergae to Strong this week so hopefully Can Do will do the same.

@Leeroy, emailed Dire about getting this offsite forum access sorted. Hopefully I'll be on before our next game.

Round 2

Lubnan U21
(19872)

Our first comfortable win of the season, mostly because these guys were a little smarter than the Saudi's and decided to Normal us instead of CT As you can see we went with a Push the Ball and Man to Man strategy and they decided to 2-3 us for some reason?

Anyway, onto the team performance side of things. Firstly I'd like to commend Dogan and V.V for not turning over the ball an insurmountable amount of times again. Great ratings all around, even the guys with respectable game shape. Obviously the SF's are at a little disadvantage when it comes to ratings so I usually just add another 1-1.5 on their ratings to get a better idea of how they played. I'm really happy with the amount of assists in this game sitting at 36, however our team still needs some passing training particularly our guards *coughDogancough*. Looking forward to better game shape as the season progresses, and hoping to make use of our secret weapon Runciman.

Game Ball
This weeks Game Ball goes out to our stand-in PG; Yu Fuhao!! He had a ripper of a game with 18 points 9 assists with 6-11 shooting. Not to mention his lock down Defense as he managed to keep his opposing PG to 1-14 from the field.
Congratulations to the French manager "Stocac" of "Ydnasiens" for his players feat this week.

We've got a bye this week so I'll be filling it with a scrimmage as soon as I am able. Our very own Tremell will be taking care of the lineup and tactics this week so stay tuned on the off-site forums for further updates!

But wont Tremmel's tactics be to tank for five seasons before trying to win anything?
