Guys,

Firstly, huge thanks for the votes. Nice to be working with U21 again once more, to learn and develop more SGP players.

Same as per previous season, I will have two lieutenant scout with us Equant (35756) and Vito (197644), so guys please don't bother to drop them tons of bbmails asking about training tips.

Later I will try to intro some of our U21 players, which are improving a lot from last seasons.

Good luck

Bigben

Season 18 : Merlions ready to fly high

Smokes are cleared, here's your Lions of the future...

Unlike previous seasons, only eight players has been selected into starting rosters based on the last week training result. Lin Chuan Loong & Li An Wen, although not with sharp GS, are still secured for top two big position. The backguard position will be filled with Li Shi Keng & Kang Puay Ying. Both of them reflected the last season Iron Men, Ling Feng Kong & Abdul Rauf Ishak. SF position will be filled by Lau Jin Chin. Although improved slowly, but he still show some promise to be SGP best player on one day.

The other three names will be filling up the benches for Merlions, that are Lee Yeow Jie, Irfan Abdul Hamid & Halim Mohd Noor.

Yeow Jie is the mini-Charles-Barkley type and passion, most suitable for the sixth-man position because of his energy.

Abd Hamid is kind of a player that won't hesitate to take over some key game with authority. Occasionally dropped some 50pts last season. He should be providing some scoring sparks off the bench.

Mohd Noor is a skilled & smart bigman who will keep his stats sheet busy.

Singapore will start S18 Asian Tournament vs the U.A.E. on tonight 7pm SGT.

Singapore enjoyed lopsided victory from UAE despite played with only six men. Won 116-60

Six ain't a jinx. At least it's still early.

Li An Wen & Lee Yeow Jie each scored 29pts to walloop U.A.E. to open the S18 Asian Tournament, won 116-60 after put it away for good on 2nd half.

The first five minutes were putting Singapore on a scare, as Lau Jin Chin and Mohd Noor had to leave court with injuries, forced Merlion to play with only six players. However, Singapore advantage on inside player were a big difference, as trio biggies Li An Wen, Li Chuan Loong and Lee Yeow Jie kept throwing their weight around the basket and collecting every garbages.

Abdul Hamid has 20pts & 9assists, Lin Chuang Loong 18pts, Li Shi Keng 12pts 7assist, and Kang Puay Ying has 10assists.

Mousa Al-Anwar led U.A.E. with 19pts.

It's good to have more bigman, from what I see, alot bigman could be really tough, if coaches know what to do on their training. Haha. Good luck in u21! More n more stronger player is going to be trained out in 1-2 season time I guess. Haha

Singapore cruised past Lebanon 101-65

For the first time in decades, Merlion do have towers.

Powered by their trio biggies Li An Wen, Lin Chuan Loong and reserve Ang Han Yao, Singapore blasted from the start of the game for 23-10 lead, then closed the first half with 56-30. Lubnan managed to stay competitive on 3rd quarter, but the injury of their athletic wingman Abu Dahab slowed down their agility on offense, and quickly fall behind again and never recovered, and finally Singapore took the game 2 with 101-65.

Li An Wen led Singapore with 22pts 16rebs, Lin Chuang Loong has 19pts on 8/10 shooting and also added 4 blocks. 20yo Ang Han Yao scored 13pts (6/8 FG) and solid 15rebs. Merlions ball distributors, Kang Puay Ying, Li Shi Keng & Abdul Hamid combined for total 21 assists. Lau Jin Chin, saw his first full playing time, didn't waste his chance, scored 12pts 6rebs 3asts and 4steals. Halim Mohd Noor also chipped with 11pts.

Naser Shraideh led Lebanon with 23pts. Abu Dahab has 11pts.
