Intro:

Hello, I've been in Buzzerbeater for a few years now and I have decided that I want to step it up in this game and really take command. I normally dont post on the forums but usually observe what people have to say. My main idea is to bring change into Canada. Yes, we have be iffy the past few years and I want to change that. Not by being the same old coach like all the others but letting your voice be heard. If you vote for me I will try to bring new hope and serious contenders in this special country of Canada.

I want to let all those Div IV or Div III coaches voices be heard. They are the foundation of Buzzer Beater and they are what the future holds.

My Team:

Yes your probably thinking, oh this guy is in Div IV, oh he doesnt know what he's dong. Well I've been in the midst of going to Div III being just one game shy. Please don't change your whole perspective of me now.

Expectations:

As Coach I will have many forums on prospects, gameplans, help that inexperienced owners needs. I want your opinion not just what the I think. To be honest with you, I dont think I can do this by myself and thats why I'm going to need your guys help too. My the end of year one I want people to be shocked by how my team has progressed. Then by my 2nd year I want a championship.Yes you heard it championship. If that means long hours staring at the screen my mind focused.

I hope you seriously consider me, not just as a joke, but as a human who wants to bring change into the Canada National Team.

Lets Bring Change to Canada!

Please give feedback on what you think of me as a canidate.

Hello everyone. I'm The Mogul, and I've decided to run for Canadian U21 manager. But wait, you wonder, who is this Mogul person? I'm glad you asked!

My Team
I manage Secret Agents (24950). I started playing in season 6, in Canada III.4, and promoted to Canada II.2 at the end of season 7. I spent season 8, 9, and 10 in division II, Following a 22-0 performance in season 10, and a successful playoff run, I promoted to Naismith. This past season in Naismith, I had the team with the lowest payroll, but still managed to attain a 9-13 record, and the final playoff spot in the Great 8.

My National Team History
I have been following the Canadian NT and U21 team for several seasons, but my interest really picked up the last couple of seasons. In season 10, I became a very active presence on the Canada off-site forum (created by Rip). The U21 team was particularly interesting that season, and I participated in many discussions about players, tactics, and overall strategy. I also watched many U21 and NT games live, and participated frequently in the chat room during games. During season 11, I started helping out with U21 scouting, and tracked the development of many 18 year old prospects. I also assisted with the 20 year old scouting for the second half of the season, and helped identify several prospects that were saved.

What to Expect If I'm Elected
I really enjoy Buzzer Beater, and am online a lot. I currently spend a lot of time answering BB-Mails, reading the forums, and thinking about the game. If elected, I would be a highly active manager, that would work hard to make following the U21 team fun. From me, you could expect detailed pre-game scouting reports, prospect rankings for each age group, and frequent communication about what's happening with the team. You could also expect me to spend a lot of time scouting opponents, setting tactics, and using whatever resources that I can to help the team succeed. For example, I am familiar with coachparrot, and would use it heavily to help maintain a general sense of the Canadian roster, and what team ratings are likely in any potential situation (parrot is very accurate here). As a manager, I think that I have done pretty well with my league team, and have had some success in underdog situations. I also have had my share of good luck, and I would attempt to bring my magic horseshoe to the U21 team, if given the chance. :)

I could keep going, but I think I'll save anything else for the debate thread. Thanks for your consideration :)

~The Mogul

Hello Canada!

Right, now that I've got my faux rock star introduction out of the way it is time to announce that I have decided to run for the highly prestigious office of Canadian U21 manager.

So who is this O-Rod character and what can he do for Canada? Read on and all shall be revealed!

I've been playing BB since the tail end of season 6 and while I didn't really know what I was doing in my first couple of seasons I have become more and more involved in the game in the past 3 seasons and my team's success has really shown this. O-Rod's Rockin' Rockets (hey at least I don't have to pick the name of the U21 team!) finished a highly respectable 2nd in my Div II.3 conference last season which I think is really impressive given the fact that we had just been promoted out of Div III the season before. Furthermore we managed to achieve this with a salary bill far lower than the average for our league. Yes we did lose at home in the first round of the playoffs but I feel this had more to do with my best player getting injured in the first quarter than anything else. An achievement worth similar consideration is the fact that my Rockets also defeated a Naismith team in the cup last season, which was a first for us.

I have become more and more involved in the National Teams progress in the last few seasons and was involved in scouting and then tracking the progress of the 18 year olds last season. Further to this I have also given my opinions (when I felt they were needed) in the offsite forum regarding tactics for the teams upcoming games. I have also become quite involved in the Canadian mentoring program in the last season and I like to think that my advice helped both of my mentees to become champions of their divisions last season (way to go Brotherhood123 and Father Bressani Eagles!).

Further to this I believe that I know what it takes to develop players into Candian U21 stars as one of my own players, Numbers Ali, is set to be one of the stars of the U21s next year. Numbers is one of the best skilled guards/wing players available to the U21 squad next year and I believe that my knowledge in developing players like him will enable me to advise others who are developing U21 stars of the future (in the same way that RIP did for me).

Sooooo.... What do I promise?

Well I'm not going to promise that we are going to become world beaters. By HPP's own admission our squad doesn't seem as talented as those in seasons past. But I do have the time and commitment to give to the team to make them achieve the best results possible. I believe that I have a sound knowledge of the tactics of the game and I will also listen to the opinions of other Canadian managers in the offsite forum regarding tactics for upcoming matches. Oh and I have a good understanding of how to use Coach Parrot and would also use it somewhat to help me decide on tactics. I would pick up the scouting and talent tracking mantle of HPP and hopefully improve the state of the Canadian game in my 2 seasons in charge.

That is really it in terms of who I am and what I plan to do. Later today I will post in the debate thread on the ongoing topics that have been brought up in there.

All the best,

O-Rod

Hello

Here goes my speech for the Canada U21 Team.

I started playing at the beginning of season 6 and had no idea what I was doing and probably only stayed because I kept winning. I ended up drafting a pretty decent player and started to learn how to train players properly and I now would say I have a pretty good idea of how this game works.

My team, Pain Train Pro, has lost in the finals of II.1 in 2 of the past 3 seasons in what could arguably be called one of the toughest divisions in Canada. This year should hopefully be different, but we'll see how it goes.

Although I'm not as active as some of the managers on he forums, I often try to add my two cents when I can. I closely follow the NT and U21 and understand how the two teams need to work together. I've helped scout the past 4 drafts now, helped scouting other teams for the U21 last season, and have tried to post top Canadian players in transfer ad forums whenever I can. I also found a few players that weren't on the scouting radar, Matthew Haines and Julius Skyrzpiniski. I also am the manager of Teo Saint-Arnaud who is Canada's best (only) Power Forward, so I know what it's like to train a U21 and NT player well also trying to build a competitive team. I also have a decent idea of how to throw a 6'8 PF as a point guard and put up decent results.

I've also invited a few teams to the game and have mentored them to help build them into decent teams. I helped the Pokey Stars who started in season 7 and are now in Naismith division. And of course I'd be willing to help mentor any new teams or answer any questions anyone would have. I know I still have questions and try to get them answered whenever I can.

What I will do for the U21 team is simple. I will try to field the most competitive team and get the best result we can get. Even though Canada may not be the strongest team this season, I will do my best to get the most out of the team. My current plan is to offer tactics a few days in advance, a preliminary discussion on what the gameplan is and why and then leave it open to what everyone will say. Then we'll decide where we want to go from there. Finally, if I am elected, I promise there is no chance that I will lose interest as the manager. We could field Canada's worst team yet and I would still be excited to to be the manager.

See you in the debate thread.

Hi
I voted for myself as a lark. I'm way better at HT than BB. Everything else in my life is pretty much neglected. Vote for me if yer feelin' wild and crazy. And darn tootin' I'd put my best guy in the Canada jersey!!!
