Manager thenewchuckd said today that Arel, Southam, Issa, Bellara, Thomas, Lachance, Abu-Kaleel, Bernier and Spencer have all clinched spots on the team. The rest are still battling for position. The 20 year olds in particular will have a tough road making the team, although the manager is quite fond of Ali, Perkins and Moran.

This is still a preliminary group. Besides the players that I said will make it for sure, anything is possible (even someone not on this list).

Also, note the the Canadian U21 will be facing off against the Canadian NT in a scrimmage on Monday. RIP has promised to only play 21 year olds, so it should be an interesting game!

The game will be played at House of Pain since Greerzilla won my predict the pool contest a while back.

Don't worry, Arel will get JR and passing training. How is he not the NT #1 PG when he turns 22?

Great post! It looks like there is a pretty good pool of players for the upcoming season. I just hope that Abu-Kaleel doesn't foul anyone too hard during the mini-camp, and cause an injury. I'm not convinced that he's quite over his violent tendancies yet. :P

Because there is a guy called Milot there. But Arel does have superstar potential, so he will pass Milot eventually, if you keep training him.

I don't think he is one of those fouling type players. He only averaged 1.4 fouls per game this season. I have seen a lot worse than that - even on guys with solid defense and good experience.

I think he fouled a lot during the round robin because he had some match-up issues.

"Show me the" Numbers Ali is going to be one of those great "glue guys" to have on your squad. Vocal in the dressing room and the first to stand up for his men on the court and dive for loose balls. As well known for his dressing room pranks as his goofy hair he is bound to go far with this U21 team! Just keep team chemistry in mind before you go making cuts in your roster!
