Sorry to see the NT took a beating today... cant help thinking they wouldve snuck a win if our players were in better gameshape..

I know we only have 17 managers and only a few more players worthy of playing for the NT so we need to give the manager as much chance as possible...

I know im not the best person to talk as none of my players are actually japanese.. also we seem to be the least communicative nation!

Are people happy keeping themselves to themselves or would you prefer to share information on training, players, tactics so that we can all learn and benefit from?

I really haven't figured out what works other than play to your strengths and pray.

I got unfairly walloped when I accidentally used a patient offence.

I still haven't grasped offensive flow.

My trainees are doing superb or so I think. Training the minimum amount of players is, I think, worth it.

Training inside defence also trains scoring: I was surprised to see a player go up in both areas at once. On second thought, a good offence is a good defence.

Hey - I try (with my minimal squad!) to give everyone 65-80 minutes... it seems with the people ive bought it can take a while to get up to a decent gameshape but once at respectable they seem to keep their shape ok...

tactics - ha! ive tried a few and although ive noticed an increase in team ratings im not sure if the progress is inline with other teams.... my training is totally mixed as i did some step trading to raise some early cash. Since mid season when my team started to take shape i have mainly gone for training that can help the core of my team and although the pops have been slow i want to protect against injuries...

i asked a question the other day and offensive flow seems to be just down to handling and passing and i guess if you are training big men only this might be difficult to increase significantly...

the playoffs seem to be shaping up nicely... its also nice to see the top league almost bot free...

lets try and get some more participation and lets hope for some decent draft picks!

Hi everyone! Even though Superfly and Fader were the only ones who posted here, I think many people from the League are reading it.

Regarding the first point of the Thread (=D), I don't think Gameshape had anything to do with the Nippon NT loss. Maybe the team could've won even with a horrible GS. I believe the reason the NT lost the match against Hong Kong, is that it's playing a basic tactic (Base Offense; Man to Man) which is very easily to read and counter. While that tactic can kill any weaker team than the one who uses it, I think that against a superior team (we are talking against HK here) it has little to do. I want to mention that this is in no way an argument against Boomshakala, whick I think is a great manager of both NT and his team. And let's not forget that it's only one defeat, so far the campaign has been great. But each team the NT faces needs to be deeply analysed.

Regarding the second point of the Thread, I think we need to stop selling so much Nippon players to the outside, and start buying the NT ones to train them here. We need to strengthen from the inside, and gain a personal potential for the country. Although winning is the objective of every team, I think it's not worth it if the team has to lose every Nippon players it has in the process. I am constantly checking the Transfer Lists for Nippon players to buy.

And for the last point, we must understand that we are yet a very small community. Give it some time =)

At least, that are my two cents =P

Just days til the Playoffs!

I agree with Kudou about the national players. If we want to have a stronger NT, we need to start training strong national players. We are a very small community, so we don“t have a lot of national players. I think that the few players we have should at least be competitive. I know that you don't want to sell your international players, and that is obviously not the idea, but training some national players will make our NT a lot better.

~ Best of Lucks to everyone!!

I don't think we have to worry about potential national players not being trained. Even if they have been sold off I'm sure the buyer is training.

We'll have to see if the potential NT players that come out of the draft get strong training.

Hi All,

Firstly nice to hear from some other managers here in Japan... i hope this is the start of a growing community!

Second my 2 cents worth on Base Offense and Man to Man.... i have to disagree that this is an easy tactic to beat. I strongly believe that GS is much more critical in big game matches... as the Game is still in the early stage tactics / best players are playing second fiddle to the random factor apart from in the games that are really lop-sided....

Anyway, the nice thing is we all have an opinion and this will be reflected in the teams we build ourselves.

I am looking forward to the draft and I hope this season I can help contribute to the growth of the NT. Even if it is a reserve!! I think we are going to be seeing the current spine of the team for some time to come and between Boomshakalaka and Dr.Fader the starting 5 look set up.

The team now has 6 open spots for anyone who thinks they have a player worthy of helping the squad...

I think the best thing we can all do is continue to experiment with tactics/players of any nationality and use this information on the NT. I am interested to learn if a more rounded player will outperform a more onesided player as this is where we can make a difference.

With a small community we have to make the most of the resources we have available and so when we have a talent(s) we should aim to maximise the return on them for both personal and national means...

heres to season 4! good luck to all....

I agree partly with the NT being trained here but we have only really had 4-5 managers play this game for 12 weeks now...(even Bulls manager quit it seems)

out of the managers that have stayed, Dr Fader is training big men... Boomshakalaka guards...so if one of them gets a draft pick out of position then they would probably be advised to sell on.... now if between the remaining managers 1 of us has the financial resources to buy then great but if not i think its safe to say the player will probably go to a team that will train him... i find if i have any NT player i want to do my best to keep them in the NT... my problem is i have a NT PG and a PF to try and train simultaneously!!! (but thats another story!!)

I picked up a decent (not NT worthy) center and a nice shooting guard. Looks like Puka got the best player in the draft. I don't have the funds to pick him up unfortunately.

I got in my opinion an awesome SF. I wouldnt swap for the Cowboys Center! Only downside is he is 19 (no-one has aged yet so i guess even the draft picks will go up a year as well....) I dont know exactly how he compares with the current NT players but he cant be far off.... so I will attempt to improve him in his 2 worse areas and make him at least a good 6th man option....fired my 3rd choice and the 2nd choice will be kept as a bench warmer!
